For many people, the holidays are all about food, family, and cheer. But for karting enthusiasts, it's also the perfect time to slow down on the track and look ahead in the workshop. No racing pressure, no time pressure – just you, your kart, and a solid plan for the new season.
How to survive the holidays with your kart:
1. Check & clean: all stock parts
Take the kart really apart. Check all bearing partsClean them, and replace any that are questionable. Clean bearings run smoother, last longer, and give you immediate confidence once the season starts again.
2. Out with slack, in with sharpness
Check all rotating parts Check for play: steering column, steering knuckles, rear axle, pedals. Play is detrimental to both feel and safety. Tackle it now and you'll be able to get in without hesitation later.
3. Prepare spare parts
Lay down spare parts already ready.
Think about:

Nuts and bolts
On race days you will gain so much peace (and time) with this.
4. Rims & tires: clean and ready
Cleanse yourself rims thoroughly and install a good set of tires before the start of the season. Label them by circuit or type of training, if necessary. Working neatly means working faster.

6. Stickers: polish or renew?

7. Wash helmet & clothing
Fresh season = fresh material.
Was it interior of your helmet and you overall and glovesHygienic, comfortable, and just nice to start clean again.
8. Time for a trophy cabinet
Make (or extend) a trophy cabinet Or set aside a shelf for your winning trophies... and leave room for what's yet to come. Visualizing is allowed 😉
9. Sweep the workshop
A tidy workshop provides overview and motivation. Even sweep, tidy upEverything in its place. Ready for a new season.
